Reported incidents: Mitrytech has been made aware of 600 reports of fire and other thermal incidents, including three reports of burn injuries and nine reports of property damage.

To get a refund, CPSC says consumers will be required to submit a photo of their recalled power bank with the word “recalled” written on it in permanent marker and confirm disposal of the power bank in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. HAIARA’s page gives the email as HAIARArecall@outlook.com (haiara.net).

Frequently asked questions

How do I check the HAIARA date code?

Look at the side of the power bank. CPSC says the recall applies to HAIARA W5 PRO power banks with no date code formatted “YYYYMMDD” printed on the side. If there's no date code, your unit is part of the recall.

Do I need my order number for a HAIARA refund?

No. HAIARA's recall page says the order number is optional, though it helps them process your request faster. You must email a photo of the power bank with “recalled” written on it in permanent marker and confirm you've disposed of it in line with local laws.

Do I need a receipt for the Casely replacement?

No. CPSC's April 2025 notice says “Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.”

How do I dispose of a recalled lithium power bank?

CPSC says not to put recalled lithium-ion batteries in the trash, curbside recycling or retail battery-recycling boxes, and to ask your municipal household hazardous waste centre first. In the UK and EU, ask your local council or waste authority how they accept damaged or recalled lithium batteries.

I'm in the UK or EU. Do these recalls apply to me?

The HAIARA and NEWDERY notices list Amazon.com as the place of sale. If you bought the same model elsewhere, stop using it and check the EU Safety Gate or the UK product recalls list. We haven't confirmed whether those lists include these models.
